Welcome Pillow - Gift Idea/Offer

Hi Friends, today I have a great gift idea and an offer for you!...

It’s almost time to “Welcome” Family & Friends into our homes for Thanksgiving and Christmas is soon to follow!

~This sweet pillow I have here is a lovely welcome, it’s a wonderful creation from my friend Charlie over at Pillow Panels.   These pillows are so great because you can change them with the seasons, holidays and for different occasions! You simply change the front panel, “It’s the pillow you never put away!”

There are a few different styles of pillows and many, many different panels to choose from and some custom options, too.  The extra panels can be conveniently stored inside the zippered back. How awesome is that?

Speaking of awesome, Charlie has given me an offer to share with you - 20% off when you order your pillow(s) using the coupon code CHRISTMAS20 - Last ship date is December 20th!  I’m so pleased with mine and I love how I have several pillows in just one pillow now!  What a space saver!

Go check out @pillowpanels on Instagram for a link to her shop or visit pillowpanels.com and see these beautiful, amazing and fun pillows!  I’m sure you, and/or someone on your gift list, will love them!

five Below is pretty hot!

Often, when I find something new or that I deem worthy of sharing, I can't wait to share it with others!
I recently noticed that a new store had opened up nearby which I hadn't heard of before. The local Jo-Ann store had down sized a short while back(much to my dismay), and what was once their large store, was now two separate stores.  I had mentioned to my daughter my disappointment of their downsizing and that I had noticed the new place was called five Below.  She raved about five Below and how it was a type of dollar store, except everything is five dollars and under, or five below!  "Oh, five below, I get it now!" I said.  Funny, I was thinking it was winter gear as in five below zero or something?  I had envisioned ski gear, winter sports equipment and such, along with hats, scarfs and boots.(Uh, I think the winter has gotten to me, it's been too cold, what can I say ?)

Well, I knew I had to go check it out for myself, and in doing so quickly found that I liked it!  At five Below everything in fact is from $1 to $5 dollars!  There are many great items to be had there, personal items, bath & body, makeup, and hair accessories.  Sports goods, team gear, toys & games.  Party goods, candy and snacks.  Room decor, organization supplies, office and school supplies.  Media items-cell phone cases, headphones & speakers, video games and DVDs, and so much more.

I noticed that five Below also sold gift cards for $5 and $10 or you can choose your own amount.  They even have some craft supplies! This proved handy for me because I had planned to start on shopping for my Easter basket goodies for the grands, and found some great stuff there for those.  Quite pleased with that for sure, and since much of the items were better than what you might find at the dollar store.  This is one of those 'change is good' moments for me...I was disappointed by loosing part of a favorite store, but now I've gained something to like and enjoy!  Check them out at fivebelow.com, you may find one near you, and that you like it too!

A few items from my visit to five Below:

I thought this cute little computer lamp would be great for those late night blogging sessions.  It attaches via a USB port, and you can twist it to any position.  Also I really like the color! Cost: $5

When I saw this dish drying mat I got the idea that it might be great to use for stepping onto, out of the shower.  It measures 19" x 16" and I sure do like the color of it too! Cost $3

The many cell phone accessories were a pleasant unexpected find, like this case! Cost: $5

I think the Grands will enjoy these cute Barbie and Disney Princesses kites! Cost: $2 each

These bamboo baskets will be perfect to fill with goodies to make
fun Easter Baskets too! Cost: $1 each

And a few sweet treats to add to those baskets. Cost: $3

I'm sure I'll be wanting another visit to five Below before very long!...

Let there be light...from my beautiful Chandelier

My New (Old) Chandelier

I'd recently noticed an Antiques and Collectibles store had opened up nearby, and I had been meaning to stop in there to check it out.  My daughter and granddaughter were visiting, and we were just heading out for a day of shopping when I mentioned it to her, she said, "well, let's go there!", and so go there we did.

I am very glad we did because I found a chandelier that I knew would be a perfect addition to my home.  The fifty dollar price tag convinced me all the more that it should be mine, and so now...mine it is!

A big "thanks!" to the Hubby for his help with shopping for chain, wire, etc, doing the rewiring, and a splendid installation!  I said to him "You light up my life!" *giggle*

I purchased new lampshades for it, and now it looks even better.  I may yet change the lampshades I decided on using (I have an idea), but I am satisfied for now and so pleased every time I look at it.

It's beautiful and I love it!

This is what it looked like with the old shades that were worn and torn.  This photo shows more detail of the chandelier too!  I bought it with the intention of changing these shades, and I knew hubby could rewire it for me.
Other than that, it's was in perfect condition!

This is the chandelier that has now been replaced by the new (old) one!
It's not bad or ugly really, it's just that we have had it for 17 years!...and it just doesn't go as well
with our new decor now.

It's a real beauty now!

Lighting up my life!...

Shopping at the Red Barn Flea Market

A day at the Market

Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Red Barn Flea Market and Plaza, located in Bradenton, Florida while my husband and I were visiting his parents, who live near there.   My Mother-in-law had some interesting and unique coasters at her house which I told her I really liked.  She said she had bought them at the Red Barn and would be happy to take us there the next day to do a little shopping, and I could look for them while there.  We went the next afternoon.

The place was huge, containing many shops selling everything you could imagine.  Over 600 booths and specialty shops, also some good eats and beverages too.  There is something for there everyone.  Some shops were selling beautiful handmade items made with shells, printed t-shirts, home goods, sporting supplies, and there were also many jewelry shops.  We were at the Red Barn for a few hours and I know we didn't see it all!  We also were able to locate the coasters I wanted, and I actually think I could have stayed all day in that little shop that sold them, so much to look at and like in there.

The Coasters: These unique coasters are double layered acrylic squares, each have a circle cut out of the top layer and a square napkin is placed between the layers. They kind of resemble CD cases.  I think these coasters are practical and pretty cute too.  I really like the ability to change them with the use of different colored, festive or themed napkins.

Not much to look at own their own...

But, add a napkin and these fun coasters go with any occasion!  Birthdays, holidays and more!

I also purchased these wine-themed napkins from the same shop,

...and a napkin holder, which works well as a holder for the coasters too!

What a great find and so cute!

I also enjoyed shopping at one of the jewelry shops and I bought some new add-a-beads and a new style of bracelet to put them on.
Loved these purple beads!

I filled the bracelet nicely with old and new beads!

I enjoyed the visit to the Red Barn Flea Market and now have my coasters to remind me of the fun shopping day there, and memories of a great time with family!

The Happy Shopper!...

A Day at the Bead Show

~ Bead Show ~
Intergalactic Bead and Jewelry Show
May 19, 2012

*This jewelry maker's adventure place*

I really do enjoy it when the Intergalactic Bead Show event comes around, and I try to attend each time!  I attended the annual  Bead Show on Saturday along with my daughter, and I did find a few new things to add to my bead stash.  I get so many ideas while there too, and always find something I want, or think I need!  I also especially like the shows because some items I just can't find at the local craft shops, and online orders usually have a shipping fee  This is a nice hands on, get a good look at it method of acquiring more jewelry supplies.  There is so much to see there and bling, bling everywhere!  Sparkly, shiny, and colorful beads of all types and sizes, metal findings, chain and wire, and tools too.  Handmade jewelry items for sale also.  It's my kind of place for sure!
