My Love of Purple

For my love of PURPLE

*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***

When the deep purple falls
over sleepy garden walls

And the stars begin to twinkle in the sky...

In the mist of a memory
you wander back to me

Breathing my name with a sigh...

*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***

In the still of the night once again I hold you tight
Though you're gone

Your love lives on when moonlight beams...

And as long as my heart will beat
Sweet lovers we'll always meet

Here in my deep purple dreams...

I happened upon a link while on a search for deep purple.  I remember hearing this song
a long time ago.  It was actually written a very, very long time ago.
Enjoy!

Photo Collage - A Picture of L O V E

I've noticed there are a lot of different types of photo collages showing up at many of the home decor stores.  I recently made a photo collage for a gift, and I was very pleased with it, - you can see the post and tutorial for that here.

I had the idea for this photo collage in mind after finding the 'letter' photos at the craft store, after which I found the black frame that I knew would be perfect for this project.

A Picture of LOVE

L O V E

These are interesting photos of objects, or architectural elements, that appear to be letters of the alphabet.  The craft store had letter-photos that were in color, and in black & white.   I chose to use the black & white photos for this project because it was the look I wanted.  There are a few different photos for each letter to choose from.  I LOVE-d the look of these L O V E letter photos!  This was a simple and easy project that only took minutes to put together.

Interesting photos of letters in black & white.  The photos are 4" x 6".

A black frame 20-1/2" x 10-1/2", it was priced at 50% off the day I bought it!

After I figured the spacing for the letter photos, I then used double-stick tape to adhere
them to the paper that came inside the frame.

I do LOVE the look of my L O V E letters photo collage!

Love is...

I've always felt that this is a beautiful message.

I've always loved the sweet little 'Love is' messages.

Here are a few meaningful ones.

Love is...Love

I gave my love a HEART attack :)

Hearts here and more hearts there...Hearts were everywhere.

My over-load of heart love, to attack my love with hearts.

I gave him a HEART attack!

I love hearts, so that makes it easy to love Valentine's Day too.
Just look at the Heart attack I gave to my Valentine!

Many Hearts and I Love You's!

I had fun setting this up!

'Happy Valentine's Day' message.

Twizzlers Hearts

A few Roses I made - Hersheys Kisses Roses.

A Heart filled with 'Turtles' candy and a 'Big Hunk' bar for my Big Hunk!

I Love You's.

My Valentine gave me a 'WillowTree' sculpture to add to my collection!
{The 'I love you' sculpture}
I Love it!

Celebrate the LOVE in your life!...

Happy Valentine's Day

A little extra special attention for Valentine's Day is one way to say 'I Love You' to your special someone.  I am planning on a nice quiet dinner, just he and I with some favorite eats, wine, and a sweet treat or two!

Here is what I've planned for our Valentine's Day

This is what I chose to prepare for our dinner - Penne pasta with Patsy's sauce and grilled Chicken, his favorite!

The wine to enjoy with our dinner - Charles Krug - Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Some mood music by our favorite jazz musician - Gato Barbieri

A light, but delicious dessert of - Strawberry Delight

Also a few extra special sweet treats to enjoy - Hershey's Kisses Roses, A Heart filled with Turtles candies, Chocolate Hearts, and another treat, a Big Hunk candy bar to tell him what a Big Hunk I think he is!

I hope you have a special Valentine's Day with your Valentine!...

Hershey's Kisses Roses

A crafty idea for Valentine's Day.   Hershey's Kisses Roses.   After seeing the packages of Hershey's Kisses with the pink, silver and red foil wrapped kisses on the front, I remembered making these years ago with my daughter.  These roses are easy to make and are a sweet treat.  They will surely be enjoyed by those who receive them from you, or you can just make them to admire for yourself, if only for a little while...they are chocolate after all!

Supplies needed:
Hershey's Kisses
cellophane or plastic wrap -tinted if using silver kisses, clear if using colored ie. pink or red kisses
floral stem wire 18ga. or bbq skewers sticks - in desired length
floral tape
leaves

Instructions:
1. cut approximately  3"x3" square of cellophane.

2. Stack two kisses on top of each other, end to end.{turn one upside down and stack the other one on top of it, flat ends together}  Glue dots or double-sided tape can be used to attach the bottom of the kisses together.{remove white kisses paper- pull or tear off}  Center the cellophane over the Kisses.

3. Wrap the cellophane around the two Kisses and gather snugly around the bottom of the kisses, add the skewer stick. Twist the cellophane snugly around the stick.

4. Using the floral tape wrap the stick so it looks like the stem of a flower.{If you have never used floral tape before, it becomes sticky with a little bit of pull as you wrap}  You can add more to even up the look if needed, by re-wrapping.

5. Add a leaf or two and continue to wrap stem.

6. Repeat previous steps for making more roses.

I love roses and chocolate too, not to mention kisses...
