Our GOLDEN Boy is Eight!

I haven't shared our sweet golden boy in a while and today is a good day to do so.

This handsome boy is eight today!

Happy Birthday to our Golden boy Aeon!

Patriotic Decor

Happy 4th of July!

A little patriotic decor in our upstairs hallway.

Wishing everyone a happy Independence Day! And even though it may be different this year, I hope we all can enjoy a wonderful celebration of this beautiful country and our home sweet home!

“Happy Independence Day & Happy Birthday America!”

Our Golden boy Aeon isn’t so sure about all of the noise associated with this holiday, but we keep reassuring him that it’s all good and everything is fine, that he’s safe here with us, has our love and protection, and extra hugs!
We celebrate our flag, our independence and this great country today. It’s a great day to celebrate, a great day for America!

God bless us all and God bless America!

Be safe!
XOXO ~ Tammy

“Happy Birthday” to our golden prince Aeon. Our gentle giant with a heart of gold, and a great smile!

~ He’s a bright spot in our everyday!

Our Golden Day!

*It was a great Syrah Golden Reunion Lake Party for 2016!*

Looking back on that very special day when we brought our precious Golden Retriever, Aeon into our family, little did we know that we would be getting so much more along with him being such a wonderful, gentle, handsome and loving golden retriever, we gained an even larger extended family through our breeder Hollie and the Syrah Goldens.

The annual lake party brings us all together for a fun filled day to celebrate and enjoy all of our pups and the love we have for them. It's a very special "golden connection" that we all now share! We had a great turnout yesterday, and I believe at last count there were about twenty Goldens there!  I sure wish that all the dogs could talk about how fun this day is for them!

My Thanks given to:
Hollie, she's our beautiful, sweet, favorite golden breeder and "pack leader!"
The Hosts, John and Helen, for their most gracious hospitality and for hosting at their beautiful home, along with everything they do in making this a truly wonderful and memorable day. They are very kind and special people.
And, Everyone else for coming out, bringing all of the delicious food, and for sharing in what was a perfect "golden" day!

"Dogs just want to have fun!" There were about 20 dogs at the reunion!

Trying to get a group photo, I'm sure the dogs would much rather be loose, playing or swimming!

~A Dog's day~ Aeon is three!

Our Boy is three today.  Happy Birthday to Aeon!

Everyday is an adventure with this happy dog.  And, we are happy having him be a part of our lives, adding so much joy with his personality, faithful companionship and most of all, his love.
He's quite entertaining, good natured, and is very sweet.

Posing perfectly for a birthday photo.  He is such a handsome boy.
I love his big smiles!

And, I love this sweet face too!  He's so adorable.

We love our Aeon!

~ Our Golden Boy Aeon ~

Here was just relaxing and looking very majestic on the patio, and begging me to take a picture!

~Our golden boy Aeon is maturing well and has become such an important part of our lives.  Aeon is now two and half and his weight has been staying around 85-90 pounds.  His beautiful coat has been filling out nicely and is always changing with growth.

A close-up of the same photo.  Such an easy subject to photograph, and such an easy face to love!

~He is a gentle giant with a very good nature.  He shows us his desire to be with or near us, at our side or in sight constantly.  He has such a loving spirit about him.  Eager to please, and always happy to greet us upon our return.  He lives for doggie cookies, walks, and lots of love and attention!  We adore him.

He is very loved!...

Aeon is two!

Our lives have been furr-ever changed by him and the unconditional love he gives us.

-Happy '2nd' Birthday to Aeon-

Where has the time gone?  Our boy is two already!  I've been saying he is now a teenager, well in dog years that is!  He's a sweet boy and he truly loves everyone.  Most especially his favorite male known as "Daddy", and that's all you have to say to get him to perk up and take notice.  When Daddy comes home or he hears "Daddy's home", it's on!  I mean full on furr-ever smiles, prancing around, and tail-wagging that will make you think he is going to hurt something with that thing!  Yep he's a Daddy's boy for sure!  But, he loves Mommy too!  In a more gentle, knows I'm the one he should be that way with, sort of way.  It's very sweet, and so is he!

He is a gorgeous boy!...and I think he knows it!

I just couldn't resist getting the hubby this t-shirt!
He really likes it!
But, it's true pretty much...almost...uh huh...sort of...mmm hmm!

..._________...

And although I'm disappointed our team didn't make it to the Superbowl this year, I am glad my Sister sent me this bandanna last year for him to wear during the games as we cheer for the team!

From this sweet handsome puppy...

To this two year old handsome dog!

He has matured beautifully!

It's never a dull moment sharing life with our golden.  He has changed and grown into both a very good, and very good looking male these past two years.  All eighty-five pounds of him joy.  So much more to love!

He's our special boy!...

A "Golden" Day on the Lake

It was a "Golden" day!

A Golden Retriever reunion with other Goldens and their owners, all from the same lineage as our Aeon.

The Syrah Golden Reunion
July 5, 2014

We had a beautiful day on the lake with friends, old and new. It was a fun day, and the pups had a blast!  They did lots of swimming and playing together.  It was a perfect day, and what a perfect place to spend it!  The Host and Hostess live right on the lake and they were so gracious to invite all of us for a wonderful time at their place, along with all of our pups.  A Special "Thank you" to the Host and Hostess, along with our Breeder Hollie, for bringing us all together.  A great time was had by all!  Lots of delicious food brought by everyone to share as we spent the day together with our beloved golden babies, sharing stories, taking photos, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and the gorgeous day that it was!  Enjoy the photos from this memorable occasion.

  Dogs left to right: Anya, Rosie, Tucker, Jim, Dakota, Starlet, and Aeon.

Aeon's Follow-up

Aeon is recovering well since his surgery [you can read more about that here <~]we had his follow-up on Monday and his stitches removed, also that dreaded cone collar was removed too!  So glad that is behind us now!  At times it seemed he would just crash through doorways and past things with his eyes closed, as if to be thinking -"this is going to be loud and I'm going to plow on through here and not let this big cone on my head stop me!"   He didn't damage anything but boy it sure sounded as if he was going to tear something up, especially when he'd get hung up on something such as a chair or small table and pull his way free, or drag said item along with him!  Poor thing, we sure felt bad for him.  He was a real trooper overall and with adjusting to the cone 'cause well, he had to!  Unfortunately so did we!

So glad that is behind us now, and that he is his normal happy-puppy self!

Picture perfect and handsome as ever...

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
I love it when he seems to strike the perfect pose for me to capture, like this one.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

And this one.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Then he rolls over as if to say "How about this, this is cute too right?!"
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

And we both smile!

Happy our boy is a happy boy!...

Aeon - Our Happy Boy

Ever see a dog smile?

That's a dog smile!

Aeon acts like he's one happy dog most of the time, and he sure seems to smile a lot.  He is still a whole lot of puppy, over 80 lbs worth, and has a sweet nature about him.  He's very playful and energetic, and he loves to play with a ball or a toy, and he will challenge you to take it from him.  Aeon has proven that he is capable of being left home alone and is a very good dog patiently awaiting our return, and looking for a reward treat.  We have always left some Jazz music on for him when we leave, and he seems to just mellow into it and usually looks like he has been asleep the entire time we were gone.  Our Jazz loving dog!  He's truly our "spoiled brat pup" too!  He's so miss treated, don't ya think?!

...__________________...

I gave him an empty water bottle and this is a new found love-of-a-toy!  He crunches and munches on it and he tosses it in the air, chases it around the yard and has a big ole time with it!  That is, when he is not looking for something else to taste or chew on like an old tree branch, pine cone or leaves.  The weather has been so enjoyable this past week that we all want to be outside every minute to just soak it all in!  Aeon especially likes getting to run free in the yard and just be a dog!

Yes, he definitely smiles!

He has captured my heart and he sure makes me smile too!...

Snow-time-fun

We don't see snow here in this area very often, and I am OK with that.  I'll admit, it is a pretty site to look at though.  Our pup Aeon had never seen snow before so we had a few minutes of fun with him out in it as it was coming down.

Aeon having a fun time in his first snow!

Aeon likes this fun, cold, wet stuff coming down everywhere!

"Snow" is a new word to remember as something fun!

It's fun to play in, and also to eat it too!

Snow scene out back just before sundown.

Morning sunshine brightens up the view, and it will be melting the snow soon!
See those paw prints made by a happy dog running through the snow?  He definitely had a blast playing in the snow.

Aeon @ 1 year old

-Happy 1st Birthday to Aeon-
Born January 14, 2013

I got this adorable photo frame because I think it's just the cutest, and it has my favorite phrase on it (well almost) live laugh love bark.  Too cute!  I used one of our recent favorite photos that I've taken of Aeon in it as a special gift to give to Hubby for Christmas.

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Wow, Aeon is a year old already, and now weighs a little over 80 pounds!  He has really gotten a lovely coat over the past few months, and it feels soft and powdery to the touch.  He seems to really enjoy having his bath, usually at least a once a week thing.  He acts quite excited when we remove his collar and tell him he's getting a bath.  I'm really liking a new shampoo we have been using on him, it smells like coconut!  He is so soft and he smells nice too!

We've had more company than usual at our home lately, with the holidays and all, and he has been really enjoying all the extra attention!  He loves everybody and gets so excited when he sees them.  We are still working on his jumping up on people to greet them, he is getting better at not doing it, but he still tries to sometimes.  He really seems to like his daily routine, and acts as if he doesn't like any changes to it.  He lets you know it's time for his wants/needs and is persistent in his own way with getting your attention.  Whether it's ringing the bell or climbing half way into your lap, he will get your attention to go out, or to get him food or treats.  Aeon sure loves getting those treats, especially his favorite Greenies and special doggy cookies.

We recently started leaving Aeon out of his crate when we leave him home alone.  We've been very pleased so far that he has been a very good boy each time, and we feel he has really appreciated the freedom.  He is happy to just be where ever we are at home, often laying somewhere between the two of us.  Aeon is our loyal, loving companion and he adds great joy to our lives.  He brings a smile to our faces from the first kiss he gives in the morning, till the last one at night!

-A look back over the first year of life with Aeon-

Meeting our little guy for the first time!
He was 4 weeks old and would go home with us at 7 weeks, on March 1st.

April, 2013
All smiles!

August, 2013
Going bye-bye in the car!

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

When we met him he was known as Mr. Orange.
The breeder uses different colored ribbons to tell the puppies apart.
I was in love the second I laid eyes on him, and even more so once I cuddled him!

He's big enough to cuddle me now!

From a sweet little fur-ball full of cuteness...

...to a big fur-ball full of cuteness.

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

A favorite puppy photo.  I love that sweet face!

Also a more recent favorite.   I love that sweet face too!

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

The cute face when waiting for a treat.

This is the cute face I still see when he is waiting for a treat.

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Too funny!

It was funny the first time I captured it, even more so the second time!  And it looks like he is grinning in both.  Rabbit?  German Shepard?  It looks as if he still hasn't grown into those big ears!

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

All comfy and ready for a nap.

Yep, about to take a nap.
It truly is a dog's life!
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Handsome little fella.

Aeon as always the handsome fella looking like he is striking a pose for me to capture a photo of him.  From puppy, to year old pup.  He truly is a very handsome boy.

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Our sweet little guy.

Such a beautiful dog.  He is a real sweetheart.

And he's quite the character too!

Loving our precious boy!...
