Fall Florals in our Foyer

And then it was November!…

new day, new week, new month!

I'm enjoying these fall florals in our foyer and this view into our living room on this bright November day.

Fall florals in our foyer thanks to a few of my favorite shopping places.  I purchased this beautiful tall vase and florals online (sources below).  The golden tones compliment the other golds here and in our living room.  I've been using more gold for fall this year and I'm loving it!

Happy November!

A Golden Autumn
Fall Decor in our Living Room

“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”

Speaking of "gold" I'm using a lot of gold tones for my fall decor this year.  It's one of my favorite colors, and I enjoy using it throughout the seasons.

I created this beautiful magnolia arrangement, it’s also a favorite of mine. I love magnolias, their big beautiful creamy white blooms.   A true favorite of the south too!

Our first weekend of Fall was a beautiful one here, and October is off to beautiful start too!

Happy October!

Magnolia Blooms and Vase

“April showers brings May flowers”

...And so does Michaels!

~ I ordered these lovely magnolia blooms from Michaels and they are so beautiful! I’ve added them to some willow branches in this pretty embossed metal 20inch vase I got from Amazon and I’m loving the beauty they add to our foyer area!

Thrifty Centerpiece
~Styled Four Ways

I’ve truly gotten my money’s worth from this thrifty decor piece I scored last spring for a couple of dollars!  I’ve changed it with the seasons.  It’s back to the look I gave it originally last spring, except I’ve added some pretty roses.

It began as a simple candelabra that I found at a thrift store.  My original post shows how it looked when I found it and what I did to it after I got it home, pictured below.  I was so pleased with my new treasure, and the minimal price paid for it.

I enjoyed the look for Spring and right into Summer!

A little trip to the dollar store and I had some new items to change it up for Fall!

When the holidays were approaching I used different candle holders and candles, along with some holly with berries, pine cones and red tulle bows tucked in for a new look!

Our Garden Perinnials

Sunshine and blue skies always makes me happy!

And, some of my favorite perennials in my garden.

This Privet has been blooming beautifully and so fragrantly for a couple of weeks.
I look forward to it’s white blooms every year, and it’s one of my favorite things in the Spring!
The sun was just popping up and casting a golden glow behind and to the left.

I’m happy to have this beautiful view to enjoy!

Liriope Big Blue, Liriope Variegated, and Hostas. These are easy low maintenance plants that keep on giving! And, they flower in the Summer, the Liriope blooms pretty purple-ish spikes and the Hostas tall white & lavender flowers.
In the Spring I trim the Liriope as the new foliage appears, the Hostas simply pop through the ground and look gorgeous.

My fun tip of the day!

Winter Tablescape

How’s your new year going?

As the new year began I added some sparkle with touches of gold glitter to our dining room table. Helps me chase away the winter blahs!  Just changed it up a little since I hadn't done much in here over the holidays.  We spent much of Christmas away from our home visiting family.

Now I’m thinking about next month, hearts and Valentine’s Day!

Fall Shelf Decor

I have a few spaces in our home that I enjoy changing for the seasons and holidays. This space is definitely one of them!

Hubby put this shelf up for me long ago.  I knew it world be perfect for this spot, and fun to decorate.
Sometimes I make only minimal changes or add just a bit of a holiday or seasonal touch.

I've enjoyed using greens and golds this Fall season, they're two of my favorite colors so I'm happy they have been popular this year!

I’m just getting used to fall and pumpkins around here, although I’m beginning to see lots of Christmas inspiration that has begun.  There are many ideas floating around in my mind at the moment!

Fall Wreath

I made something pretty for our front door today!  This lovely Fall wreath.  We are just inside the second month of the Fall season and some of the beautiful Fall colors are appearing outside.

It's been so hot and dry here that I've wondered if we will even see much Fall color change before the leaves just dry up and fall off!

We have a storm door, so a lower profile wreath is needed due to the narrow space between the two doors.

I chose to use a simple wire wreath form and covered it with burlap/mesh ribbon folded in half.

Next I cut-off part of the stems from two floral picks, placed them in opposite directions and attached them and a pre-made bow, using floral wire.

It was simple, easy and low cost!  And, I can easily change the look for another season or holiday, too!

- Items List, Sources & Prices:
Floral Picks - Hobby Lobby 1/2 off =1.99 ea
Ribbon - Hobby Lobby 1/2 off =3.98 per 10 yd roll (Used appox 1 yard)
Wire wreath - Dollartree =1.00
Bow - from a recent gift pkg =.00

This will easily adorn my door until Christmas decor makes its way there!

I hope you've found this easy wreath inspiring and you'll make something pretty for your door too!

Happy Crafting and Decorating!...

Fall Centerpiece Basket

I created this lovely Fall centerpiece by adding some lamb’s ear greenery, sunflowers, and a faux pumpkin to this pretty basket I recently found at a thrift store.

The basket was only two bucks and it was already painted in a neutral color, which matches well with my decor.  I love it when that happens, don’t you?!

I always encourage others to have a look at the thrift stores and antique markets!  You never know what treasures you'll find!

~ I’ll enjoy styling this thrifty treasure throughout the seasons!...

Fall Centerpiece

I recently did a little restyling to my thrifty centerpiece that I shared back in the summer, and now it’s updated for Fall!

I visited the Dollar Tree and found these cute auburn colored candle holders, each with a sweet little metal leaf attached to it! And, I also got some Fall florals to tuck into the lamb’s ear greenery I had on it before!

Just a couple bucks to transform and update it!  That's my favorite kind of decorating!

A glimpse of the before, after the original makeover.  See the original post here!

Next I'll be sharing a thrifty fall tablescape!  I'm off to do some shopping!

Thrifty Decor for Summer

These are a few of my favorite things...and colors!

::: I’ve styled this console table in our breakfast area with some thrifted treasures and some items from a few of my favorite stores.

Can you believe I found this beautiful green painted wood & iron piece at goodwill?  Yep, and for just a few dollars, that’s why I enjoy stopping in there sometimes.
You just never know what treasure awaits?

I love decor pieces that you can be creative with, and easily change the look of by adding different elements!

::: This rustic box with metal handles is just the thing to do that with!  I shopped my home and simply added three of my gold painted terra cotta pots, a candle holder lifts the center one, some greenery, curly burlap ribbon, faux grapes and flowers, and voila!

::: I have it sitting upon a thrifted bread box I chalk painted some time ago.  Along with the beautiful green wood and iron piece, which as I mentioned above was also thrifted.
I’m enjoying this look for Summer in front of our breakfast room window.

- Tip of the day -
Try shopping your home before buying new items, and be creative!  It doesn’t have to cost a lot to decorate your home in a beautiful way!

And then it was June
~Time for more outdoor fun!

Well June has arrived and now Summer is right around the corner.  Time really flies when you're having fun!

My handsome companion while enjoying coffee outside this morning!

I visited the garden center on Sunday and shorty after getting the plants and flowers unloaded to the backyard we got a much needed rain shower!

}The rain was a welcome sight since we’ve had a drought here!

This is my happy place of a morning!
I enjoy my coffee out on our porch...My favorite way to start the day.  And end the day too!

We spend a lot of time out here, this space is a wonderful extension of our home.  Rain of shine we can enjoy spending time out here.  Morning, noon and night!

Happy June!...

May in Bloom

It's May already!

Our beautiful Privet bushes are blooming their fragrant white flowers, it smells so wonderful!
The sweet fragrance fills the air!  This is a hardy perennial.  I love how it provides such beauty year after year.

[Some say “it’s an invasive plant and don’t like it” but, I love it for many reasons.  It’s evergreen, a privacy hedge, the birds love its berries, and I love the abundant pretty white flowers and sweet smell when it blooms!]

I look forward to these blooms every Spring!

Another thing I love about perennials is...I haven’t done a thing to this planting area yet this year, and Spring has it looking beautiful!  The Salvia, Hosta, and Liriope fill this area and are such easy plants!

This happy boy loves being outside, and chasing wildlife i.e. bunnies, birds, bugs, and lizards! Hence the big smile on his face ...and the decorative iron fence to keep him off my pretty plants!  Winning!*wink*

I usually tuck in some annuals in the currently empty pots, I like that I can change those plants with the seasons.

It's nice to enjoy beautiful mornings and afternoons out here!  And, it’s nice to slow down, unplug and just enjoy!

Wishing everyone a Happy May!...

Spring Decor
~Adding touches of SPRING ~

Move over winter, it’s Spring’s turn!  The wait is over...Happy SPRING!!!

I am giddy as a child for our first weekend of the spring season. We even have a beautiful weather forecast for both days!

I’ve enjoyed adding some fresh decor for spring, and also seeing the grass out in our yard becoming green again!

Wishing everyone a beautiful first Spring weekend!

Enjoy!...

Hello SPRING!!!

Happy Spring ~ From my home to yours!

I’m so excited to welcome the Spring season!  The long awaited day has arrived!  I am smiling happy, and have a "spring" in my step!  I simply couldn't resist that! :)

Daisies, for a fun welcome to Spring!  Don't you think?!  These faux daisies from Michael's will have to do for now, or until the real ones are available!  I've placed them in my thrifted pitcher that I'm so happy I was lucky enough to find a long time ago!  I often wonder "what makes one give away such a beauty?!"  Well, it's mine now and I am happy with that!

And, I'm so happy to say...

Happy SPRING!!!

Winter Decorating ...cures my winter blahs

Winter has made it's way to the south, like it or not we are feeling it all around us.  We get a warm day here and there and then ..."wham" it's bitter cold again.  I'm enjoying this bright view inside while it’s cold and gloomy outside!

After the holidays and taking down the Christmas decor most of us are looking for a fresh start.  Creating and decorating pretty spaces warms my heart and helps to keep the winter blahs away!  And, this certainly looks much better than the outside scenery at the moment!    A pretty floral arrangement of soft creamy flowers with winter greenery and pine cones are center stage to this layered look I created and have on my counter in the kitchen.  Shopping my home for items is my first source for decor before making any new purchases.

I’m enjoying a fresh new look to our surroundings.  This is a favorite color palette for me.  Creams, whites, greens and golds.  And, I always love adding some sparkle!  Our hall table is a fun spot to decorate throughout the year.  So often small changes give it a new look without changing everything.  I like that I had all these items already.  Thrifty no-cost decorating!...My favorite!

I used a few thrifty finds to create this sweet vignette too, and it's also something beautiful to cure my winter blahs!  Winter can be beautiful, and even if it is cold outside it can feel warm and cozy inside.  I'm ready to hibernate for a while, so I better enjoy what is going on in here!*wink*

I hope you're warm and cozy!

Spring on the Back Porch and Patio

I hadn't shared any photos lately of our outdoor spaces.  We added on the covered porch and patio a few years ago, and they have become two of our favorite places to spend time.

We are fortunate to have good weather most of the year here in Georgia. We get some cold throughout the winter, but a fireplace and gas heater add warmth on those chilly evenings.

I added just a few Spring touches out here, a bit of greenery and lots of candles for night time ambiance.  In all honesty, I have a love/hate relationship with the TV out here.  I could have done without it, but the Hubby really wanted it and I do enjoy it part of the time.

I really enjoy being out here early mornings listening to the birds in the quiet.  It's especially nice on a bright and beautiful day!  I love a slow and easy morning out here on our back porch.
It's my "happy place" to begin and end each day!

This patio area next to our covered porch is a great spot for sunny mornings! It's also a great spot for planting pretty flowers, and attracting hummingbirds!
It's often a work in progress, because just like decorating inside, I like to make changes outside too!

My coffee mornings out here are a wonderful start to my day with the sights, scents, and sounds of nature.
This is just after I planted some new annuals. My clematis vine was just beginning to bloom its pretty purple flowers, and the grass greening up beautifully after dormancy.

I created the iron trellis wall as a blockage for our precious golden retriever who thinks he is suppose to cut through the planting area.(insert *eyeroll* here)  Well, not so fast boy, I've found a way to put a stop to that and make it pretty at the same time!  I like the way it turned out and it surely does the job!

It's a beautiful sunny day today so I feel the need to go enjoy it outdoors, I'll be out here doing just that!

Have a great day!
