Our Breakfast Area Decor for Spring

Welcome beautiful May!

It will be only a day longer than April, but I sure hope it feels longer than that...April went so fast!

This is our breakfast area decor for Spring,

Enjoying this view of our breakfast area and beyond.  Spring is showing off on this beautiful first day of May.  Green being one of my favorite colors it brings me joy, and it's going on outside and inside.

I love this heart shaped tin, and this beautiful green painted wood and iron piece I’ve paired it with. So easy to change up for the seasons.  Both are favorite thrift store finds.

I fell for the heart shapes within them...because “hearts” are a happy-heart making thing for me!

Happy May!

HOME Pillow Cover
~Spring Decor in Our Family Room

It’s HOME that I love the most!

It is my favorite place!

And green...I love green!

::: For Spring I did a simple and quick change here in our family room by adding a different floral arrangement and my “HOME” pillow cover!

~ Tip of the day ~
Changing your decor is as easy as changing your pillows!
Pillow covers are one of my favorite decor items. They’re not expensive and are easy to store when not in use.

And then it was APRIL

I’ve often said “shop your home before buying new!” Well, I’m certainly practicing what I preach even more so during these unfamiliar days! Aren’t we all?!

I shopped my home for some change of scenery. I created a little something sweet and cheerful to celebrate Easter and Spring! It’s making me smile!

I hope you’re doing well and finding much to smile about!

Bye-bye winter! Hello SPRING!

Hello Everyone...I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy!
“Home” is even more precious these days, isn’t it?! Our safe spot, shelter, a place of hope shared with family.  We are all facing this covid-19 pandemic and unsure about how long we will be sheltering at home, alone together!
“The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home.” – Confucius

I’m staying busy and finding things to focus on that bring joy and peace to my mind. What better time to “shop my home” and do some redecorating?!
Oh, and it’s the last day of winter, that makes me smile! And, we are expecting temps to reach 80° tomorrow, as we welcome spring!

~ Bye-bye winter! Hello SPRING!...

Hello MARCH!

I'm so happy to say that!

It’s the month of Spring’s arrival and that makes me so very happy!
I wait all winter to welcome March and Spring!

It’s a new day and a new month, and soon it will be a new season!
***Spring is on the way!***

Happy March!

Centerpiece Makeover

This lovely centerpiece is the result of a thrifty makeover.  I much prefer the way it looks now compared to when I found it at a thrift store!  I thought it had potential and I could make it look better, so I grabbed it up!

Below is the before.

It really wasn't to my liking as it was, but I felt I could give it some love and make it my own.

I then searched the glass area in hopes of finding some candle holders for it, and found three glasses that were perfect to use as candle holders, and they fit nicely.

Now I felt it all coming together and had a plan in mind for it!  At that point I was excited to transform my treasure!

I got it home and removed the old faux greenery and fruits, then gave everything a good cleaning.
I actually liked the look after I stripped everything off and considered leaving it as it was.

But, I decided I’d add some Lamb’s ear greenery, which I already had on hand, for a fresh Spring/Summer look at the time.  I was so pleased with the final results!

I’ve enjoyed having this pretty centerpiece on our breakfast table.  It makes me smile knowing that it looks much better than it did and I spent under five bucks in all!  I now look forward to giving it some Seasonal changes!

I just love finding a good thrifty treasure!  Especially the kind I can change the look of seasonally, that's even better!

Happy “National Flag Day!”~Patriotic Decor

“You're a grand old flag
You're a high-flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave
You're the emblem of
The land I love
The home of the free and the brave!”

I did a simple little vignette for "Nation Flag Day" and added some patriotic decor.  Hooray for the Red, White & Blue!

Happy Friday, also!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and a very Happy Father’s Day, too!

Celebrate!...

And then it was June
~Time for more outdoor fun!

Well June has arrived and now Summer is right around the corner.  Time really flies when you're having fun!

My handsome companion while enjoying coffee outside this morning!

I visited the garden center on Sunday and shorty after getting the plants and flowers unloaded to the backyard we got a much needed rain shower!

}The rain was a welcome sight since we’ve had a drought here!

This is my happy place of a morning!
I enjoy my coffee out on our porch...My favorite way to start the day.  And end the day too!

We spend a lot of time out here, this space is a wonderful extension of our home.  Rain of shine we can enjoy spending time out here.  Morning, noon and night!

Happy June!...

Red White & Blue Table Decor

Wow, May is slipping by so fast!  It's hard to believe June arrives next weekend!  But first we all get to enjoy a long holiday weekend for Memorial Day!

Hurray for the Red, White & Blue!
...And, Target for these cute napkins I scored for a dollar each! {shhh...bandanas}*wink*

Wishing everyone a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

*** As we celebrate and enjoy family gatherings and cookouts over this long holiday weekend, remember all the service members who we owe so much gratitude and respect!

Step Ladder Display Shelf

I often like things that are different, unusual, and out of the ordinary!  So the first time I saw a step ladder used to display items on each step, I knew I had to do that!  I can't take credit for the idea, but I'm so glad someone else thought of it!

We had an old step ladder we'd used over the years and of course it was handy when it was needed, the rest of the time it was stored away in the basement or a closet.  I couldn't wait to grab that little ladder and paint it up!...Chalk paint to the rescue!  Now I enjoy using it to display items and change the decor for holidays and seasons.  Such a fun decor piece!

I'm using it currently to display some of my thrifty treasures!  Isn't it a cute idea?  I sure think so! :)

Spring Decor
~ Our Breakfast Area

I've been enjoying the Spring weather and my Spring decor!

April brought us lots of beautiful sunshine and warmer Spring temperatures!  And now that May has arrived it has gotten even warmer, so Spring is certainly in full bloom!

It makes my day to see this bright view when I come down to our kitchen of a morning.  Seeing the green progress outdoors makes a nice background to my current Spring decor!

I love the pops of green, along with lots of white and cream, it's light and bright and so nice after the drab of winter.  I definitely like the calm soothing feeling of neutrals!

I created this pretty centerpiece for our table using this beautiful large gold tray (a gift from my daughter), and a thrift store find that I gave a little makeover!  I'll share more about that later!

I had a little fun changing up my chalkboard by doing something a little different.  I found the cute "Hello Spring" plaque/sign at the Target dollar spot and the eucalyptus vine was a 1/2 off spring-sale find.  Together they dressed up my chalkboard simply and inexpensively!

I'm enjoying Spring and I really do wish it could be Spring all year!

May in Bloom

It's May already!

Our beautiful Privet bushes are blooming their fragrant white flowers, it smells so wonderful!
The sweet fragrance fills the air!  This is a hardy perennial.  I love how it provides such beauty year after year.

[Some say “it’s an invasive plant and don’t like it” but, I love it for many reasons.  It’s evergreen, a privacy hedge, the birds love its berries, and I love the abundant pretty white flowers and sweet smell when it blooms!]

I look forward to these blooms every Spring!

Another thing I love about perennials is...I haven’t done a thing to this planting area yet this year, and Spring has it looking beautiful!  The Salvia, Hosta, and Liriope fill this area and are such easy plants!

This happy boy loves being outside, and chasing wildlife i.e. bunnies, birds, bugs, and lizards! Hence the big smile on his face ...and the decorative iron fence to keep him off my pretty plants!  Winning!*wink*

I usually tuck in some annuals in the currently empty pots, I like that I can change those plants with the seasons.

It's nice to enjoy beautiful mornings and afternoons out here!  And, it’s nice to slow down, unplug and just enjoy!

Wishing everyone a Happy May!...

Spring Tiered Tray Styling

Live Laugh Love...
A favorite phrase of mine!

And, speaking of favorites, tiered trays are so fun to decorate and this is one of my favorites!  I have a few tiered trays ...or many!

I chalk painted this tiered tray, it was originally a rusty red color.  I much prefer in white now!  I’ve simply styled it for Spring using some pretty white flowers, greenery and that sweet “Live Laugh Love” painted wooden heart!

These tiered trays are a great way to add seasonal and themed decor to your home, without taking up a lot of space!  It's fun finding smaller items to add to my trays, so I'm always on the lookout for them!

Happy Decorating!...

Easter & Spring Tablescape

When what you had envisioned comes together ...and you step back and just ...SMILE!

I put this simple tablescape together using some recently purchased items and what was on hand.

Those cute painted-wood bunny napkin-rings were the final element that had me a bit giddy to pull them altogether for my sweet and simple Easter & Spring tablescape.

S*P*R*I*N*G!
It’s my favorite season!

I enjoy decorating for Spring.  And, these are some of my favorite colors...I love creams, whites, golds and greens!

When it comes to decorating, I encourage others to “decorate with what you love, and do what makes you happy.”

And, always, always be you!

Easter is on it's way...Hippity~Hoppity

Easter is on the way and Bunnies and Easter eggs are everywhere at the moment!
How could I not jump at the chance to add some to my decor...or shall I say ... hop to it?!

It’s “Bunny” season!!!  I meant Spring!  Cute bunnies are just so hard to resist, aren’t they?!
Well, Target knows this, so they put these sweet little bunnies out to temp us!...I mean me!

And, I totally fell for it!  Uh, also these cute wooden eggs, and adorable egg cups too!

SPRING IS HERE!!!
I’m so happy Spring is here...

I’m happy sweet little Miss Bunny is here too.  She had me instantly with that cute flower she’s wearing!  She’s letting everyone know...”SPRING IS HERE”

April arrived and she brought us Spring!!  Both the sign and the bunny are from Target, too!  I actually found the sign last year and it goes perfectly with Miss Bunny!

And, how fortunate for me to have found such a pretty green egg while at the grocery store!   You just never know where you'll find cute home decor and accessories these days!

~ Enjoy the little things!!!...

Welcome April

It’s been a beautiful first day of April with lots of sunshine!  April’s not foolin' around, it’s really been beautiful today!

It’s really feeling like Spring now.  I’m enjoying lighter and brighter days, and how light and bright our home feels too!

A Spring "Welcome" with this sweet wooden welcome sign I picked up at the Dollar spot area of Target!  They always have such cute decor items!  And, it makes it so easy to do a little decor refresh without spending a lot of money!

~ Happy April!...

Green for Spring
~ Decor Inspiration ~

S*P*R*I*N*G...I’m so happy you’re here!!!

The days are getting longer, and warmer too.  And, there’s lots of green going on outside.  I love the freshness of Springtime!

It’s just the inspiration needed to add some fresh green decor inside.
- These cute place mats and pretty faux tulips were a happy find at the Bed Bath & Beyond - Spring sale!

This view is making me smile today!  And, of course Springtime too!  What’s making you smile today?!

Hope you’re having a beautiful day!...

Spring Decor
~Adding touches of SPRING ~

Move over winter, it’s Spring’s turn!  The wait is over...Happy SPRING!!!

I am giddy as a child for our first weekend of the spring season. We even have a beautiful weather forecast for both days!

I’ve enjoyed adding some fresh decor for spring, and also seeing the grass out in our yard becoming green again!

Wishing everyone a beautiful first Spring weekend!

Enjoy!...

Hello SPRING!!!

Happy Spring ~ From my home to yours!

I’m so excited to welcome the Spring season!  The long awaited day has arrived!  I am smiling happy, and have a "spring" in my step!  I simply couldn't resist that! :)

Daisies, for a fun welcome to Spring!  Don't you think?!  These faux daisies from Michael's will have to do for now, or until the real ones are available!  I've placed them in my thrifted pitcher that I'm so happy I was lucky enough to find a long time ago!  I often wonder "what makes one give away such a beauty?!"  Well, it's mine now and I am happy with that!

And, I'm so happy to say...

Happy SPRING!!!
