Centerpiece For Winter on Our Dining Room Table

A bright and sunny day always makes me smile, even if it is winter…and beautiful flowers do that too!

Winter vibes in our dining room. Some evergreens tucked into a previous flower arrangement, and a layered look using a white wooden riser, evergreen charger, and a golden dish for this simple winter centerpiece.

~ I hope you’ve had much to smile about today!

Cozy Winter Decor

Keeping it simple with a little refresh here for winter.

I enjoy using pillow covers to easily change up my decor. And, it’s such an easy way to add color to a neutral space.

I chose to use two sets of pillow covers here, the black and white checked and solid green. The wall shelf is easy to change with the seasons and holidays.  A pair of mini trees add a nice touch for winter.  A window mirror with a simple wreath attached, a pair of candle holders, and I added some checked ribbon to the trees to match the checked pillows.

I’m currently dreaming of ideas for spring while staying cozy and warm.  We’re in for freezing temps this weekend with a winter storm bringing the possibility of snow and ice!

Simple Winter Styled Shelf

Winter vibes!

My love for green and gold with this simple and elegant shelf styling.

It's January, so I've kept a few pine trees around for my winter decor.  I'm keeping it simple with this winter styled shelf.

A pair of gold glass candle holders on pillar candle holders, and a mini tree in a pretty box up on a pedestal.

Just enough to chase away the winter blahs!

Simple Christmas Table Decor & Centerpiece

Playing with table decor ideas for Christmas...

I was wanting an easy table setting that I could use for everyday, one that had my table looking festive and fun on the ready throughout the holidays.

I'm enjoying green and gold this holiday season so I went looking through my stash of decor items and put this simple look together.

I had the green table cloth and the pretty lacey golden vinyl placemats, I recently ordered the gold table runner for the center and it's perfect.

Also I changed up my box centerpiece with some holiday greenery and gold ornaments.  A pretty candle holder in the center snugged by a mini wreath completed the look.  I've had loads of fun changing this box seasonally and for the holidays.

Now I can easily dress the table with plates, napkins and tableware as needed.  I can keep this simple look the rest of the time.

Happy Decorating!

Wreath Restyle for Winter

I've enjoyed restyling this beautiful wreath.  I purchased this lovely wreath from Kirkland's long ago and I have added embellishments to change it up for different holidays and seasons.

For winter I simply added some evergreen picks and buffalo plaid ribbon to change this beautiful wreath.  I just tucked the evergreen picks into it and then added the ribbon.  Just a couple items tucked into the wreath gave it a new look.  I can still use this favorite wreath seasonally by making simple changes by adding different elements.

Below is a view of it in its original form.  It's truly a favorite wreath of mine!

I love this beautiful wreath, and have enjoyed it for many seasons, and hope to enjoy it for many more!

Winter Decor

Winter is the time for warm and cozy!  I've added a touch of winter decor for after the holidays.

I’m loving this beautiful pine and pinecones *pillow cover, it’s a nice addition to my winter decor and other pillow covers.  A simple pillow change was all that was needed to change this look for winter!

I love making floral arrangements.  Fresh or faux, simple or more elaborate. Greenery is the basic element and flowers are always a perfect component.

I tucked some buffalo check ribbon into this arrangement to coordinate with my decor.
It’s a simple addition that I like to include which helps coordinate, along with adding color and interest!

Over on our breakfast table I have this *Interchangeable Centerpiece, it had Christmas embellishments a couple weeks ago, you can see it here, now it’s simply styled with candles, evergreens, white florals and checked ribbon!

Happy Valentine's Day!
~My Beautiful Heart Wreath

Wherever you go, go with all your heart.
- Confucius

I was thinking ahead about February and Valentine's Day when I spotted this lovely heart!

I ordered this beautiful faux white-rose covered heart from target.com.  A little gift to myself, 'cause I just had to have it!

It originally had several tiny green leaves throughout which I simply removed because I prefer this all white look.  I’m so happy with it and I really love it!

I hope you are feeling extra loved today!

Thrifty Winter Decor

Our first Monday of February!  The sun is shining and it’s a bright and beautiful first Monday of this new month.

This is my current decor for winter over here in front of the window.  I have a simple touch of greenery, winter picks of pine, and pine cones tucked into my thrifted tin heart, displayed on my thrifted green painted wood & iron decor piece.

Well, that was a mouthful but a precise description for this view in our breakfast area.  Another heart item that I love that works well for February decor too.  These thrift store finds are a couple of my favorites at the moment.   I also added some evergreens to my candlesticks.  I love hearts and I love green so this is making me smile!

The temperatures are promising for this first week of February, in the 70’s today!

I’m optimistic about spring arriving soon!

Hellooo FEBRUARY!

Well, winter’s certainly not over, but January is!  We’re even closer to spring!

And, YAY!...It’s the month of hearts & love!  Time to bring out the heart decor.  These are a couple of my favorite heart items.  I found the heart wreath long ago and the decor beads were found around this time last year.  Hearts are a favorite of mine so they are present in my home throughout the year, not just for February.

My perpetual calendar keeps me up to date, that is if I remember to flip over the days and months!(wink)

I know I shouldn't rush time, but I'm so ready for Spring to get here!

Framed Wreath Artwork/Decor

This beautiful art print was a gift to myself, for Christmas!  I purchased the beautiful mirrored frame for it from Amazon, and I love them together!

The talented artist is Melissa, I found her on Instagram @housefenway she has a vast array of artwork, sizes and styles to choose from in her shop!  I hope you will visit to see for yourself, I love viewing all of her beautiful artwork and definitely want to get more! What a lovely gift idea for yourself or someone special on your gift list!

I’ve enjoyed displaying this “Christmas Olive Wreath with Copper Bells” print during the holidays and it’s perfect for winter too!

Hope you’re having an awesome day!

Winter Tablescape

How’s your new year going?

As the new year began I added some sparkle with touches of gold glitter to our dining room table. Helps me chase away the winter blahs!  Just changed it up a little since I hadn't done much in here over the holidays.  We spent much of Christmas away from our home visiting family.

Now I’m thinking about next month, hearts and Valentine’s Day!

Fun Kitchen Decor Idea - February/Valentine's Day
~ Mini Ladder /Dish Towel Holder

I’ve been enjoying this sweet display for February and in honor of Valentine’s Day!

I created this simple little *ladder for displaying decorative dish towels in our kitchen.  I may have screamed out loud when I saw these sweet towels at Target... because they’re adorable and sooo me.
Gold hearts, oh yeah!  And, I love Kisses & Hugs!

Hello February
~The Month of LOVE ~

It's February!  The month of LOVE.

Hearts and Flowers are two of my favorite things.  I use them a lot in my decor.  So when February rolls around I'm all in on the Valentine's Day decor.  I have hearts-a-plenty, but that doesn't keep me from adding more if I come across a heart of two, or many!

These sweet little lovelies were a nice surprise found at Target, I couldn't resist scoring them from the dollar spot area, they’re perfect for me and Valentine’s Day!  And at only a few dollars they're perfect low-cost decorating items, I love that!

Hearts make me smile, I enjoy seeing them.  I tuck them in here and there.  They are little reminders of love and that makes me happy too!

We’ve had a beautiful first weekend of February.  The month of LOVE is off to a great start!

~ Wishing you lots of love...

Winter Decor
~ Our Breakfast Area

It’s only mid 40° outside today (brrrr!), but at least the sun is shining!
It really brightens up our breakfast area, and lifts my spirits too.  This is where we begin most of our days and also enjoy most of our meals.

Of a morning our Kitchen and Breakfast area usually gets lots of light, and of course if it's a sunny day it's even better!  Currently I have this look since putting away all the holiday decor.  I like it light and bright, and the creamy whites give it a calm neutral feel.  I've added a pop of color with the greenery and touches of gold, and some black with the iron pieces.

A closeup of the breakfast table decor and to show this beautiful tray, a gift from my youngest daughter for Christmas. I absolutely love it!
- I switched out the smaller tray I had here before and I’m enjoying the glow of this large, beautiful, golden tray and using it as part of our breakfast area table decor.

I enjoy styling this area and finding thrifty decor to change it up for the seasons!
- I painted our old step ladder with chalk paint a while back, it’s perfect for a corner and to display some treasures.
- I used some gold metallic paint to transform my terra-cotta pots for the topiaries up on the shelf.
I love what a little paint to do!
- I must have flowers always, and greenery. Whether fresh of faux, they bring me joy and add beauty to a space!

A closeup of this corner with my painted ladder and thrifty finds. I found that large pine cone out in our backyard.

I’m thinking about next month and Valentine’s Day. I usually have hearts around my home all year, it’s a favorite thing of mine ‘cause I love hearts.
::: This will be an easy transition to Spring!

A message on my chalkboard for now, "Warm Winter Wishes."

~ Warm winter wishes to you!

Winter Decorating ...cures my winter blahs

Winter has made it's way to the south, like it or not we are feeling it all around us.  We get a warm day here and there and then ..."wham" it's bitter cold again.  I'm enjoying this bright view inside while it’s cold and gloomy outside!

After the holidays and taking down the Christmas decor most of us are looking for a fresh start.  Creating and decorating pretty spaces warms my heart and helps to keep the winter blahs away!  And, this certainly looks much better than the outside scenery at the moment!    A pretty floral arrangement of soft creamy flowers with winter greenery and pine cones are center stage to this layered look I created and have on my counter in the kitchen.  Shopping my home for items is my first source for decor before making any new purchases.

I’m enjoying a fresh new look to our surroundings.  This is a favorite color palette for me.  Creams, whites, greens and golds.  And, I always love adding some sparkle!  Our hall table is a fun spot to decorate throughout the year.  So often small changes give it a new look without changing everything.  I like that I had all these items already.  Thrifty no-cost decorating!...My favorite!

I used a few thrifty finds to create this sweet vignette too, and it's also something beautiful to cure my winter blahs!  Winter can be beautiful, and even if it is cold outside it can feel warm and cozy inside.  I'm ready to hibernate for a while, so I better enjoy what is going on in here!*wink*

I hope you're warm and cozy!

Winter Decor
~ Our Fireplace & Mantel ~

We've been trying to stay warm.  That is easier to do when you have the heat from a fireplace.  We have used it quite a bit this winter already.

Well, January is about to be over.  It's a been a cold one here this year!  I can't remember it ever being as cold as it has been this winter.  We have even had snow twice this season, that's not a typical thing here in the south!

It was another bright and beautiful day here in Georgia.  The sun was quite deceiving though, as it still feels like winter out there!  As our winter weather lingers ...so does my winter decor...

This is the look I gave our fireplace after the holidays.  My continuing theme of greens, and golds, and creamy whites.  Our fireplace is a major focal point in our family room.  It’s a place to add interest and a joy to decorate for the seasons.

Stay warm and cozy!

Winter Decor
~ Our Breakfast Area ~

Just sharing some of the decor ideas I've used to get through the winter blahs!  After the holidays it's a time of transition to get things back to a more normal kind of feeling and appearance.  But, I love to decorate and I enjoy pretty things so, I find ways to make the winter a little more cheery!  And, because I'll admit to it not being my favorite time of the year!

The sun was pouring in and brightened up this space,  The sunshine always makes me happy, it brings a smile to my face and a warm feeling to my heart!

Many of the items here in our breakfast area are thrifty treasures, even the beautiful chandelier!  I recently shared the tray I chalk painted and used here as my centerpiece.  I found the table runner a few days ago from a local thrift store.  Over in the corner you may recognize the window with planter box, and the old ladder I refreshed with paint a while back.

This sweet window with planter box is also a thrifty find, it’s a great piece to restyle and change with the seasons. The old step ladder we'd had a long time and it was freshened up in white with some of my chalk paint treatment. White flowers are a favorite of mine, no matter the season!

Flowers and greenery are some of my favorite decor items, whether fresh or faux, I have to have flowers and some greenery!  I found some books to add a little lift and more green color.  The white shutter is one of a few that I have found at various thrift stores or antique markets.  I find them useful in many ways.

A simply styled area with something to brighten these winter days, beat the winter blahs, and warm my heart!

~Oh Winter, how I long for the warmth of Spring!

Chalk Painted Iron Tray

I love what a little paint can do!  I picked up this iron tray at a thrift store a while back, actually it was my daughter that pointed it out to me.  I was happy to get it, even though I had one identical to it at home.  I'd been thinking of painting my other tray for some time, but was torn about doing it.

Finding this one gave me the idea that I could now have both!  So, I gave it a quick once over with some white chalk paint, (not being overly perfect with complete coverage), and I'm loving the new look of it!  And, I love that I still have the original one I purchased years ago!  Win!  Win!

~*~   ~*~   ~*~

I enjoy putting floral arrangements together, I created this one for winter using items I already had and three winter picks with evergreen and pine cones purchased from the dollar store.

That led to creating this winter centerpiece for our table using my thrifty, chalk painted, iron tray, along with a simple natural wreath, and some long needle evergreens.

This sweet & simple winter vignette makes me smile!

Planter Box with Window - Winter styled
~ After the holidays - Winter decor ~

We’ve had a very lazy day today, after our special holiday celebration with our family.  It was nice to unplug and focus on family and spending quality time together.

I’m pretending now in my mind that I have all the Christmas decor packed up and put away.  That will happen this weekend!  I did manage to dress this sweet little window and planter box with a “winter” theme, so it’s just fine as part of the decor that will stay around a while.

I shared a post about finding this window and planter box at a thrift store earlier in the fall.  I just did a little changing of the contents to give it a winter feel.

”Baby it’s cold outside!” I think I’m ready for hibernation mode, now that the holidays are over!...Brrrr!

~This GA gal is hoping for an early Spring!!!

Hello WINTER

~ The winter solstice has officially begun.  Our winters are usually not so bad here in the South, and that’s fine with me! I do enjoy a white Christmas though... We just may see one this year!  The days will be getting longer as I look forward to Spring.  Stay warm my friends!

I'm busy preparing for the Christmas holiday, as I'm sure most everyone is doing at the moment!  I always find time to decorate, I enjoy it so much, especially at the holidays.  I couldn't resist finding a way to use these sweet little brush trees.  A winter scene on my coffee table was just the right touch, and a "Hello to winter."

~Warm winter wishes~
