Wow, May is slipping by so fast!  It's hard to believe June arrives next weekend!  But first we all get to enjoy a long holiday weekend for Memorial Day!

Hurray for the Red, White & Blue!
...And, Target for these cute napkins I scored for a dollar each! {shhh...bandanas}*wink*

Step Ladder Display Shelf

I often like things that are different, unusual, and out of the ordinary!  So the first time I saw a step ladder used to display items on each step, I knew I had to do that!  I can't take credit for the idea, but I'm so glad someone else thought of it!

We had an old step ladder we'd used over the years and of course it was handy when it was needed, the rest of the time it was stored away in the basement or a closet.  I couldn't wait to grab that little ladder and paint it up!...Chalk paint to the rescue!  Now I enjoy using it to display items and change the decor for holidays and seasons.  Such a fun decor piece!

I'm using it currently to display some of my thrifty treasures!  Isn't it a cute idea?  I sure think so! :)

Spring Decor
~ Our Breakfast Area

I've been enjoying the Spring weather and my Spring decor!

April brought us lots of beautiful sunshine and warmer Spring temperatures!  And now that May has arrived it has gotten even warmer, so Spring is certainly in full bloom!

It makes my day to see this bright view when I come down to our kitchen of a morning.  Seeing the green progress outdoors makes a nice background to my current Spring decor!

I love the pops of green, along with lots of white and cream, it's light and bright and so nice after the drab of winter.  I definitely like the calm soothing feeling of neutrals!

I created this pretty centerpiece for our table using this beautiful large gold tray (a gift from my daughter), and a thrift store find that I gave a little makeover!  I'll share more about that later!

I had a little fun changing up my chalkboard by doing something a little different.  I found the cute "Hello Spring" plaque/sign at the Target dollar spot and the eucalyptus vine was a 1/2 off spring-sale find.  Together they dressed up my chalkboard simply and inexpensively!

I'm enjoying Spring and I really do wish it could be Spring all year!

May in Bloom

It's May already!

Our beautiful Privet bushes are blooming their fragrant white flowers, it smells so wonderful!
The sweet fragrance fills the air!  This is a hardy perennial.  I love how it provides such beauty year after year.

[Some say “it’s an invasive plant and don’t like it” but, I love it for many reasons.  It’s evergreen, a privacy hedge, the birds love its berries, and I love the abundant pretty white flowers and sweet smell when it blooms!]

I look forward to these blooms every Spring!

Another thing I love about perennials is...I haven’t done a thing to this planting area yet this year, and Spring has it looking beautiful!  The Salvia, Hosta, and Liriope fill this area and are such easy plants!

This happy boy loves being outside, and chasing wildlife i.e. bunnies, birds, bugs, and lizards! Hence the big smile on his face ...and the decorative iron fence to keep him off my pretty plants!  Winning!*wink*

I usually tuck in some annuals in the currently empty pots, I like that I can change those plants with the seasons.

It's nice to enjoy beautiful mornings and afternoons out here!  And, it’s nice to slow down, unplug and just enjoy!

Wishing everyone a Happy May!...
