A Shower for Mom-to-be and Baby
~Baby Shower Ideas~

Our youngest daughter is expecting a baby girl in May.  We are all so excited! This is her and her husband's first child, our third grandchild.  It's a girl!!!  Our third granddaughter.  I can't wait to welcome another little "Miss" into our family!

We had a Shower for the Mom-to-be and Baby.  What fun it was to help host this event along with other family members.  The beautiful Mom-to-be is glowing, as she grows closer to the day her little bundle of joy will arrive.  The Baby Shower was a fun gathering with friends and family, with some good food, games, and activities.  The decorations were "It's a girl" theme with lots of pink.  The Mom-to-be is even more prepared after receiving many great baby gifts from friends and family.

All set up and ready for the Baby Shower!

It was a fun time preparing for the Baby Shower! Enjoy more photos of the event below!...

This is adorable!  One of the Sisters/Sisters-in-law prepared these sweet decorations and the fun activities.  The onesies were personalized for the expecting parents and baby.  The stacked boxes are gift wrapped diapers spelling out the name of baby Chloe.  That's a sweet idea, and more diapers are always a great gift!

We had a food buffet with yummy lunch foods, Popcorn Chicken, Macaroni & Cheese, Pinwheel Sandwiches, Tortilla Chips & Salsa, Potato Chips, Pretzels, and a mixed Fruit Tray.  Also a drink station with Pink Lemonade and Raspberry Sherbet Punch.

I enjoyed setting up the buffet and adding some crafted items I'd created for the Baby Shower.  A couple of simple flower arrangements and a banner with "Chloe" stenciled on it.  I think adding "Balloons" always make a party more festive!  I found the painted pink corbels/shelf brackets at a thrift shop, and thought they would be great for displaying the balloons.  I also made a few floral arrangements for the table centerpieces and added balloons to those too!

The Dessert Table with Chocolate and Vanilla Cupcakes, Chocolate and Glazed Donut Holes, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Pink M&M's.  I had fun setting up this "Sweets and Treats" table.  I was also had fun creating the Diaper Cake.  I felt it would be the perfect centerpiece for the dessert table.  There were two diaper cakes there, one (pictured above) from the Dad-to-be's Mother, and this one that I made.  I'll share more about how I made the diaper cake in a later post!

A couple of the fun activities were a Diaper Raffle, a ticket included in the Baby Shower invitation with the message "Bring a box of diapers, any size and this ticket to enter for a prize,"  And, this "Well wishes for Chloe" display where guests could write a "well wish" on a paper onesie and then attach it to the clothes line/photo frame.  Such a sweet idea!

There was a "Make a headband for Baby" station too.  The guests were provided all the necessary items and instructions to create a sweet handmade headband.  Aren't they just the cutest!

We had "Baby Shower Bingo" for a fun game to play with everyone. The guests were given bingo cards that explained the game.

Before the gifts are opened, write in the squares the items that you think may be received.
As the gifts are opened, mark off your square with the item. Get 5 in a row, across, down, or diagonal and yell "Bingo!"

Also, we set up an area with the message "Help a busy Mom-to-be! Please self address an envelope." This will definitely help when the busy Mom-to-be is preparing "Thank you" notes!

Speaking of the busy Mom-to-be, she and the Dad-to-be put these "Ready to POP!" Popcorn favors together for the guests to take with them.

The cute wreath was a throw together I did last minute with left over ribbon and a grapevine wreath.  I found the sweet knitted blanket at a thrift shop where I found the wreath form.  Glad I brought them along since they added so nicely to this display!

A little close-up of the cute "Ready to POP!" favors.

This was a gift I brought unwrapped, I wanted to also use it to display it as part of the Shower decorations.  Mom-to-be loved it as much as I did, and it's perfect for the baby's room too!

I wrapped some pink crepe ribbon, and then pink tulle, around a cardboard letter "C" then added some embellishment, and "Chloe" in sparkly stickers, which are a bit difficult to see here.

We also had a photo booth with fun props, and a message of "Pick a prop, strike a pose, show some baby love!

Here we are with the Mom-to-be having fun with the photo booth.  Me, the Mom-to-be and her sister/our oldest daughter.

One of the fun gifts for the Dad-to-be, a onesie with directions!  Labels on the arms and legs and "you can do this Dad!" along with a cute backpack with "Chloe's Daddy" printed on it!  Too cute, and too funny!

The beautiful Mom-to-be and me!  I'm very excited for my baby girl, I know she will be a wonderful Mother, and I'm so anxious to meet sweet baby Chloe!

It was a fun Baby Shower!  I'm so happy our Mom-to-be enjoyed her day!

I hope you find some of these ideas useful if you are ever planning a Baby Shower or anytime soon.
