Spring Themed Shelf #2

After putting away the Easter decor and the Bunnies, I gave my shelf a little Spring do over.
I found this cute faux wooden mirror with a removable shelf attached at the bottom, I turned it over and used it with the shelf at the top!

This thrift store find was destined for a paint job, but I haven't made up my mind on that yet.  As is, is doing nicely for now!  I figured turning it over would give me another shelf to decorate on top!  I decided to keep it simple and added some greenery and flowers.

For a fun SPRING display I changed up my "display shelf" using it and some of my other thrifty finds - the metal brackets, glass candlesticks, wreath, scrabble letters, and ceramic tray.

I enjoy finding things and being able to change their appearance or use them in different ways, this was a very easy change!  Think of ways to use an item differently, or not as it usually would be, you'll get more use out of it that way too!

Dollar Deals and Thrifty Treasures

If you haven't seen or heard of Target's dollar spot area you are missing out!  They have caught on to the dollar store idea, by adding an area with items priced at one to five dollars.  I can't pass up the area when I go there now!  I am hooked, they get me every time I'm in there.  I find something to like or that I just have to have!  I recommend checking it out!

I love flowers! Fresh flowers are wonderful and fragrant, but flowers I can keep forever are always hard to pass up.  The wooden flowers above were found at Target dollar spot for three dollars, aren't they cute?! They can be painted but I loved their simplicity as is.  And, that cute "Welcome Spring" banner was only one dollar, also found at the dollar spot.

I love finding these low cost items that I can use in decorating my home.  These items make it easy to stay on budget and be able to do my favorite thing, changing my decor with low cost decorating!

Some of the the other items here I already had before Spring, the ceramic Magnolia blossom is a thrift store find.  Magnolias are a favorite of mine.

And, Mr Owl was found last year, I fell in love with him and that sweet face! He's just so adorable!  I enjoy decorating my home with things I love!

I dressed up my Baker's Rack with a touch of Spring using just a few items for just a few dollars! That's my kind of decorating!

Happy Shopping and Happy Decorating!...

Happy Easter!

Easter sure has come quickly, it doesn't seem as if it should be April, and yet we are half way through it!

I did just a little decorating for Easter.  Would you believe these sweet bunnies recently hopped right into my shopping cart?!  I think they knew they would be perfect for my Easter table.  Perfectly adorable!  They are pretty cute so I allowed them to come home with me.  And just as I suspected they were perfect.

This bunny was from my imagination, as I was thinking about how some bunny would be visiting on Easter, as rumor would have it!  My thrifted chalkboard/tray was on the ready for Easter, and my imagination.

I also had to make a bunny face, 'cause I think a bunny face is cute!  Don't you?  Truth be told, I just like to play around with my chalk and chalkboards, and pretend to be an artist! :)

I put together this simple and beautiful Easter tablescape.  My pretty cut-glass and crystal pieces added lots of sparkle.  We had a bright and gorgeous day with blue skies and much sunshine.

We enjoyed an Easter meal/feast all prepared on our Big Green Egg by the mister.  It was better than Easter Eggs!

I hope you had a blessed and beautiful day.

A Hoppy and Happy Easter!...

Spring in April
~Our Spring Breakfast Area~

I've been enjoying our bright sunny Spring mornings.  I love all the light in our breakfast area each bright sunny morning!

I've kept it simple in my breakfast area with light tones and golden touches.  It feels fresh and light.  I do love all the light in here!

I also love my Baker's Rack, it's a favorite spot to restyle with different items, serveware, and things I love!

Setting a pretty table is something I truly enjoy doing! Anywhere from simple to extraordinary, using only a centerpiece, or a full traditional table setting.

When I'm wanting something new or different, Hobby Lobby never disappoints! And, neither does a Spring sale at 50% off and a 40% off coupon! I love Hobby Lobby!!!
These items are all from Hobby Lobby.
~Table runner and matching place mats, white stand, and bronze planter with plant.

I hope your days are bright, sunny, and beautiful!...

Spring Themed Shelf Decor

Warm, sunny days enjoying the hours. Sights and scents of fresh blooming flowers. Green grass growing and green leaves on the trees. Opening up all the windows and enjoying the fresh breeze. The sounds of birds singing, the buzzing of bees. Oh yes, it must be Spring!!!

Well, March has gone by very quickly!  It's Spring for certain now, we are feeling it and seeing it everywhere outdoors.  I am in Spring mode indoors, too.  I added a little "Spring" to my shelf.

I always enjoy restyling this shelf.  It's fun and easy to change the look, and today it's "Spring!  I may fuss with it and change it again, that's what I like about it and why I asked the Hubby install if for me.

I was ready to give my shelf a Spring touch and did so thanks to a few things I already had (the planter, tray, basket and colored Easter eggs), and a few new "Spring sale" goodies from Hobby Lobby (the sweet little bunny, the ceramic decorative egg, and the small urns).

I found this sweet photo frame at the thrift store.  I thought it was perfect for Spring. I used a piece of card stock for inside the frame that I simply wrote the word "Spring" on and embellished the dot over the "i" with a flower!  Easy, inexpensive, and quick home decor! That's my favorite kind!

I'm so happy it's Spring!

Have a great Spring day!

Diaper Cake
~Make a Cake using diapers~

We recently had a Baby Shower for my daughter.  I shared a post about the event and the fun ideas for decorations and activities.  I created a Diaper Cake for the Shower and as a gift for the Mom-to-be.  I'm both pleased and proud of how it turned out!  I viewed several ideas for making diaper cakes and put together a plan for making one.  It was very easy and didn't take very long to make it.

This is an easy and fun gift to give a Mom-to-be, and it can also be used as decoration for a Baby Shower!

Spring is here!
More "Spring" decor

Happy Spring!!!

I long for Spring, the beauty it provides, and the promise of new beginnings.  It's a beautiful season! I always wish Spring, and Summer too, could last twice as long!

Yay for more Spring decorating!  Now that it's officially Spring, I'm happily saying "Buh-bye to winter!"

I love when the days are longer and lighter!  It's so nice to decorate for Spring, I'm having fun bringing out some of the Spring decor.  Lightening things up around here now.

What a beautiful Monday and Spring day we had today!

Happy SPRING!...

A Shower for Mom-to-be and Baby
~Baby Shower Ideas~

Our youngest daughter is expecting a baby girl in May.  We are all so excited! This is her and her husband's first child, our third grandchild.  It's a girl!!!  Our third granddaughter.  I can't wait to welcome another little "Miss" into our family!

We had a Shower for the Mom-to-be and Baby.  What fun it was to help host this event along with other family members.  The beautiful Mom-to-be is glowing, as she grows closer to the day her little bundle of joy will arrive.  The Baby Shower was a fun gathering with friends and family, with some good food, games, and activities.  The decorations were "It's a girl" theme with lots of pink.  The Mom-to-be is even more prepared after receiving many great baby gifts from friends and family.

All set up and ready for the Baby Shower!

Spring-ing Forward
~Adding a touch of "Spring" to our decor~

~I don't see it as losing an hour I see it as gaining a Spring!~

Closer to "Spring" now that we've done our Spring-forward-an-hour, if only the weather could get on with it also?  Many saw cooler to extremely cold temps this past weekend, some even got snow!

Even though it hasn't felt like Spring outside over the past few days, I gave our mantel a touch of Spring by changing out the mirror and adding my new wreath and plants from Hobby Lobby! Gotta love those half-off Spring sales!  I do, I do!

I took a quick shot of what a few minutes attention resulted.  I do think those pots are about to get a makeover with some paint!

Also did a touch of Spring in our breakfast area, too!  Added some green to the breakfast table after I spotted this sweet plant in the bronze pot, and a matching bowl to now make a set of two...I love Hobby Lobby!...and 40% off coupons!

I simply placed a couple of glass candle holders into the bowls, added bronze candles, and called this C.U.T.E!

Green-ing things up for March! My chalkboard got a new look a few days ago. I'm hoping March brings much luck!!!
Green is one of my favorite colors.  I long for the green to reappear with all the other colors of Spring!

I love my beautiful Chalkboard, I kind of pretend I'm an artist and challenge myself to put something fun, or interesting, or pretty on it, often changing it with the seasons, holidays, or special occasions. It's one of those "I just had to have it items" that I couldn't pass up!

I enjoy using chalkboards to decorate my home, they're easy to change and also easy to make.  I have a few I've made from old photo frames and mirrors.  Fun, easy, decor items that are inexpensive and customizable too!

I'm always happy to see these beautiful red buds on this beautiful old tree in our back yard! This tree says Spring has arrived!!!

Although it was a little chilly on Saturday, I enjoyed a coffee morning out on our back porch soaking up this beautiful morning view!

It's green-ing up outside and inside too, I'm ready to begin a new season!  Come on SPRING!

Spring is almost here!...
