Neutral Palette Centerpiece for Easter

I have mentioned a time or two how I enjoy the challenge of no-cost decorating.  As I often do, I went shopping my home for inspiration, as I looked for items to put an Easter-themed centerpiece together.  The plan was for something simple, and most of all quick and easy, but make it using Easter eggs.

This centerpiece would be for my casual breakfast area table.  I preferred something that could be removed and re-positioned there easily, or placed over on the sideboard or kitchen counter if and when needed.  Such as, when using the table for other purposes like doing crafts, or as a desk, which hubs and I often do together while using our laptop computers, marital bliss don't you know!

I did it!

I remembered having the little egg cups stowed away in a drawer.  I think they're such a cute nesting place for eggs, and using them for Easter eggs was perfect.  I had just boiled some eggs for a salad, so popping them into the cups had me seeing a vision of a soft neutral palette for my centerpiece.  Something understated and out of the ordinary, and not the traditional decorated or dyed eggs.

Thinking to myself, "Easter eggs don't have to be colored, right?"

My jute twine came to mind as a simple decoration to dress up the eggs, so tying a bow around each egg was an easy, and oh-so-cute addition.  I grabbed my rotating tray/lazy Susan because the match was perfect to the egg cups, and would work nicely as the base for my centerpiece.  To put it all together I placed the egg cups on a white paper doily and added some height to one of them, along with the gold basket that holds my toothpicks, salt and pepper.  A sweet little vase of flowers completed the centerpiece.

It is soft and neutral, and goes well with my decor at the moment.  I remembered seeing faux white eggs at Hobby Lobby recently, so I quickly got back there to pick up some to use in place of my real eggs for this centerpiece.  I like that I can switch out the plain white eggs with decorated or colored eggs in an instant, too!  I am always open to changing something that can be changed.

Speaking of which, I'm a love just about anything that sparkles kind of gal, so I also set up my centerpiece with these golden/bronze eggs (found at Walgreens), and now I can't make up my mind as to which way I like it best!  And, I'm thinking perhaps a lighter jute twine for these might work, too.  I've decided I love both!  Today one way, tomorrow another!  That works.  Happy decorating!

Happy Easter!...
