Outdoor Project: Finish & Furnish Update

After much awaited time for completion and obtaining final inspections on our new covered deck and patio area, we're able to say it's officially finished and ready for furniture and dressing up. Just a couple days before and just in time for our guests for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Using much of which we already had in the way of furnishings, we spruced up the cushions with a good cleaning and also gave a new look to a few other items with fresh paint.

This layout gave us ample seating and a cozy place to share with our guests.  We love the new space and find that we want to spend every minute out there, weather permitting of course, which has been in our favor.  It's been nice having some warm temperatures to enjoy for late November and early December.  Although the warmth of the fireplace and a heater help with enjoying it even when it is cold outside!

Our outdoor space is even more than we had dreamed of and it's a relaxing place to spend a morning having a cup of coffee, an enjoyable place to watch some football, or to spend an evening by the fire having a nice glass of wine.

Welcome to the Back Porch!

The fireplace is a grand focal point and turned out beautifully.  It's nice having a TV outside,  we can quickly remove it if need be, and we have a protective cover for it too.  We added some curtains for privacy and to keep out the rain or wind, it helps with making it feel warmer too when they are closed.  This should have the opposite effect when it's hot outside too, and along with the fans should keep the area cooler.  I love the look and I think they add an extra bit of southern-charm to the space.  I love the lanterns too, they also add to the look and add a nice glow at night with the candles lit.  In the summer I'm thinking some citronella in there will deter pests!

Sometimes, old is new again with a little paint!  This table and chair set has been around a while, and thanks to some fresh paint it looks new again all dressed in black!

I love, love this new patio area, and it has some 'old is new again' items that have been painted.  I am surprised that I thought I wasn't going to like this as much as I do love it now!
